Turn a child’s name into a coloring page in print, cursive or bubble letters. Parents make one for a party; teachers paste the class list for a page per child. Free PDF.

US Letter (11 × 8.5 in) [279 × 216 mm]

1 name

One child’s name, or paste the whole class: each name gets its own page, up to 20 letters a name. Names stay on this device and never go into the page address.

Presets

A preset sets the format and look below; change anything after.

Format

Door hanger: a cut-out hanger with a hole for the doorknob (portrait). Name tent: folds in half to stand on a desk (landscape). Banner: one letter per page with two string holes.

Letters

Round, Chunky, Puffy, Tall and Bubbly are the bubble letter styles: fat letters with room to color and for patterns.

Inside the letters

Patterned: each letter gets a different pattern to color (stripes, dots, zigzags, hearts...). Patterns show best in the bubble styles.

Letter size

Capital letter height. Fit the page makes the name as big as the sheet allows.

Layout

Stacked: one big letter per row, for names up to 6 letters (portrait suits it best).

Around the name

Light gray shapes big enough to color, around the letters, never on them.

Shows the page colored in, on screen only, to help a child choose. The PDF and the print stay black and white to color.

How it works

  1. Type a name or paste your class list. One name per line, up to 20 letters each; every name gets its own page in one PDF.
  2. Pick the format and the look. A coloring page, a door hanger, a desk name tent or a banner; print, cursive or one of five bubble styles; plain letters or a different pattern in every letter, Simple or Detailed; stars or hearts around the name. Turn on the colored sample to see it colored in.
  3. Download and print. Free, with no sign-up and no watermark, on US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) or A4 [210 × 297 mm]. Print at 100% (“Actual size”).

Tips for name coloring pages

  • Teachers, the first day of school: paste the class list once (it stays on this device), pick the First day of school preset and print one PDF with a page per child: a calm first activity that is theirs. Next week, reuse the list for desk name tents or door hangers.
  • Preschool and kindergarten: Simple patterns have big shapes for crayons and a bold outline; stacked letters in portrait make a cubby or locker label.
  • Older kids and adults: Detailed patterns in a bubble style make a name page to color slowly with fine markers or colored pencils.
  • Parents, parties and bedrooms: the Party banner preset gives one patterned letter per page to color and string up; the door hanger suits a bedroom door or a gift.
  • From coloring to writing: once a child knows the letters, try letter tracing worksheets or preschool handwriting worksheets.
